A Summer of Celebration
Ten Year Anniversary
From June through August 2025, we’re honoring ten bold, art-filled years of hospitality, creativity, and community at The ART Hotel Denver. Our 10th anniversary celebration spans the entire summer with a thoughtfully curated lineup of events, experiences, and tributes, each rooted in the legacy of the late Lanny Martin.
Lanny wasn’t just instrumental in bringing The ART Hotel to life; he was the heart of its vision. A passionate philanthropist and art collector, he imagined a space where world-class hospitality and world-renowned art could coexist, sparking inspiration at every turn. From the hotel’s architectural design to its carefully curated collection of contemporary works, Lanny’s influence is woven into every detail. This milestone summer is more than a celebration of ten years—it’s a tribute to the bold creativity and generous spirit that shaped the very foundation of The ART Hotel.
Central to realizing Lanny’s vision was the expertise of Dianne Vanderlip, the founding curator of the Modern and Contemporary Art department at the Denver Art Museum. With a distinguished 30-year tenure, during which she acquired nearly 8,000 works of art, Vanderlip brought her curatorial acumen to The ART Hotel, assembling a collection of over 40 significant pieces that transform the hotel into a living gallery.
Vanderlip’s selections include works by renowned artists such as Leo Villareal, whose mesmerizing 22,000-LED light installation "Threshold" graces the hotel’s entrance; Sol LeWitt’s vibrant "Wall Drawing #397"; and Ed Ruscha’s evocative tapestry "Industrial Strength Sleep." Each piece was chosen to resonate with Colorado’s unique cultural and natural landscape, offering guests an immersive art experience that blurs the line between museum and hospitality.
As we commemorate a decade of The ART Hotel, we also celebrate the enduring impact of Dianne Vanderlip’s curatorial vision, which continues to inspire and engage guests, embodying the creative spirit that Lanny Martin so passionately championed.
